I. Tags

  1. The time you spend online doing research on keywords that are relevant to your blog will translate to a more intelligent understanding of your audience. Try using Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool or Wordtracker in doing this task, it will make your searches more productive and way more informative. Keep a list of those keywords under “specific tags”. That will be your guide for future posts. Obviously, the best keywords are those that are searched on numerous times but are not exceedingly competitive.
  2. Utilize Technorati and Del.icio.us by looking for prevalent tags found in the top 100 blogs. Keep the results of your search under “popular tags”
  3. Lastly, make use of Technorati again and look for some frequently used tags related to your blog’s topics. It will be prudent to jot down any ideas for tags so that you can put them in the appropriate list.

VI. Technorati

  1. You will be able to claim your blog at Technorati. Make use of an assortment of popular and specialized tags as keywords to identify your blog.
  2. Sign up with Technorati if you haven’t yet then add your blog in the Technorati favorites.
  3. Make a system of how to get steady traffic for your blog. Decide how often you will be logging on and making entries.
  4. Technorati will allow you to enter 20 keywords or keyphrases, make sure that your entries are related to those keywords.
  5. Give your site or blog the once over every now and then taking special care to find out what’s bringing most of the visitors in. Keep your entries coming and also take time to polish your tags at Technorati.

VII. Add extras to you blog

“Add extras” are very effective tools used to enhance your blog. Adding them will surely increase your “marketability”. These extras are ‘add to furl’, ‘add to Technorati favorites’ and so on.
